Day 3 - And we thought this would be the easy day

Sometimes when you think you know just what is going to happen, God says SURPRISE! That was today. Usually when we go to Delmas the people seem healthier. That was not the case today. As people came in, one of the first that was seen was a man with a totally ulcerated leg. Terri willingly volunteered and spent 3 hours cleaning his enormous wound. As she worked she talked to him and was so concerned with his pain. The man was so very thankful. One of the translators said to Terri that no one in Haiti would do for this man, what she did without having to pay much money. This translator was just in awe and better understood what our mission is in coming to his country: to be Christ to the people.

There was also a little girl with a big wound on her leg that Georgia cleaned and bandaged, several people who came in with blood pressures up to 294 over 148, a small boy with pneumonia, two women who need injections in their knees, and a teenage boy with a large hematoma on his head. Add all of that to over 215 people seen in the medical clinic and more than 100 people in eye glasses and you have a wonderful, busy and praised filled day that God had planned all out.

Tonight's devotion from Ashli was about Love God, love people. It was a good reminder of what we are doing here in Haiti.

Tomorrow we head back to Delmas for worship. We look forward to seeing many of those we served today and to worship together as brothers and sisters in Christ. Following church we will be going to head up the mountain to see another part of this country and to do a little sight seeing. This comes at a good time as a little rest is needed for many of the team.

Please pray for the man and the child whose wounds were cleaned today. Pray for those people with such high blood pressure that the medications would be effective. Pray that hearts were opened as they experienced the love of Christ from the members of the team.
